Can safety cover installed on new concrete pool?

Winter pool cover suggestions for New In ground pool

CASE:

Online ID forwinns who install a new pool and looking for some suggestions of

how to choose a suitable cover pool for winter. He just get a concrete deck new

pool in spring this year.he have no idea of how to cover swimming pool in winter.

Safety cover are the most popular for winter, but he worry about if it okay to drilling

40 little holes into the new concrete. Forwinns wanna get some other suggestions from

others pool owner.

Here are some other pool owner advice

1.A pool owner from Tucson suggest forwinns think about the winter cover pool which

reqires drilling holes and the tarp-style pool cover.

The tarp-style pool cover need things weights holding it down, like water bag or sand.

relatively speaking, Pool trap may be more more difficult to put in and keep cleaning,

but more cheaper in cost.

2.Another pool owner from Indiana suggest forwinns think about the mesh leaf covers for

inground pools and he think pool trap is a pain:

Drill the holes. You close your pool in the fall and don't think about it until spring except

to drain water once or twice. The water bag covers are a pain. The mesh safety cover for

inground pool is flat and leaves blow off. The water bag covers are at the water level,

so the leaves accumulate.

3. More and more people suggesting forwinns to drill the holes.

Drill the holes. You won't notice them with the brass pins screwed in,

they weather to nice dark patina.

John think the safety covers brass pin are almost hidden so it will not have big

effect on the pool appearance.

Agreed, drill the holes. However, in IL your cover won't be flat much of the winter

because it will have snow on it which will cause it to be resting on the water surface

(and possibly to freeze to the water surface).  I think ours says 18" below the deck level,

and it must be below the skimmer level, so you have a window where the water level should

ideally reside.

The review above from a pool owner who using a Mesh pool cover. Because forwinnss

pool is new, so he suggest that forwinns should make sure the pool water surface isn't

lowered below the safety cover manufacturer's recommendation.
